St. Ann Catholic School
Part of the
Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools system, St. Ann Catholic School was founded in 1955 and staffed by the Sisters
of St. Joseph and lay teachers. The original school was opened with
12 classrooms and a cafeteria. In 1960, 6 additional classrooms and
a library opened. In 1993, a new gymnasium, cafeteria, and 2 playgrounds
opened. Our students now have use of science, art, and computer labs
and a beautiful all purpose room. In 1995, a Pre-School and Transitional
Kindergarten were added to the academic program and a new playground was
added to the recreational area. In 1996, the library was computerized
and two years later the school was networked. In 1998, a new kindergarten
